These days video games will cost you as much or more than a nice steak dinner, so the decision to buy a game for your Wii is a decision not to be taken lightly. You can spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars buying games that just don't live up to the hype or can be beaten in about as much time as it would have taken for you to eat that steak dinner. Below are a set of critera to help you determine whether you should buy or rent Wii games.
When to Buy Wii games:
1. Offers multiplayer mode. Does the game offer multiplayer modes, allowing you to challenge or play side-by-side with a partner, either online or at the console? These multiplayer options can provide countless hours of fun even after you have conquered the game itself. Let's be honest, it never gets old taking out a little aggression on your friends.
2. Does the game have a history? In other words, is this the sequel to a previously popular game that you enjoyed? If so, odds are this one will be jam packed with new surprises, options, and sure to entertain you just as much as the original. There's a lot of pressure for games to live up to the originals, and unlike movie sequels, they often deliver.
3. Is the game receiving positive reviews? There are a multitude of sites out there that offer comprehensive reviews of just about any video game. Have a look at three of these sites at least to get a feel for how the game is being received along with pros and cons of the game.
4. You're Rich. You have more money than you know what to do with. OK, in this situation, you might as well just buy it. What have you got to lose?
When to Rent Wii games:
1. Exploring. The Wii brings a whole new level of interaction to gaming with more options than we've ever had before. Sometimes, sifting through all of these options and knowing what you will like and won't like simply involves trial and error. So when you just want to play the field and explore your options, renting Wii games is obviously the way to go.
2. The game sounds too good to be true. Sometimes a game is so hyped up that it's doomed to fall short of expectations. So, better to be safe than sorry. Rent this sucker first. If you're still smitten and you decide that the rest of the world wasn't crazy. Go buy it!
You have ADD. If you're like me and you get bored with games quickly, then renting Wii games is definitely the way to go. Often, I'll buy a game, play it for a week or two, then I'm moving on to something else. There are some great online Wii rental options available these days, which can save you a ton of money and give you access to all the games you would ever wish to play. rent.
